Kenya L. Crawford-Walker is the owner and Clinical Director of Perspective Counseling Services, PLLC in West Point, Mississippi. She has a total of twenty-five years of experience in the fields of psychology and counseling. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Mississippi State University in 1998, and a Master of Science degree in Counselor Education with an emphasis in community agency counseling and crisis intervention in 2001. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor for the state of Mississippi and a National Certified Counselor since 2002. She is also a Board Certified Tele-mental Health Counselor. She is also a member of the Mississippi Counseling Association and the Alabama Counseling Association. Mrs. Crawford-Walker is currently a doctoral candidate in the field of counseling and traumatology at Liberty University.
Mrs. Crawford-Walker's experience includes the facilitation of individual, group and family therapy for children, adolescents, and adults with psychiatric and behavioral disturbances. She specializes in the clinical treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression and anxiety, marriage and family issues, and spirituality issues. Mrs. CrawfordWalker also specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma focused therapy, and counseling for grief and loss, low self-esteem and identity issues, anger and resentment issues, and abuse victimization. She provides Christian counseling to meet the spiritual needs of the community as well.
Mrs. Crawford-Walker is a native of West Point, MS. She currently resides in Columbus, MS with her husband, Jessie L. Walker, Jr. She enjoys spending time with her husband and their three children, their two grandchildren and their extended families. Mrs. Walker also enjoys reading, listening to music, and traveling during her leisure time. Because she believes the complete person is mentally, emotionally, and spiritually healthy, she is dedicated to helping you reach the next level in life.
Tyra E. Rowell obtained an Educational Specialist degree in Counselor Education from Mississippi State University and a Bachelor's degree in Family Studies from Mississippi University for Women. She is a provisional Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Mississippi. She has also obtained the National Certified Counselor credentials from the National Board of Certified Counselors. She has taught Human Growth & Development at two Community Colleges and has ten years of experience as a School Counselor working with children and adolescents. Her purpose as a Therapist is to help you change and give insight and strategies that will inspire that change. Her passion is to help others live their best possible life in spite of their past and circumstances. She specializes in child & adolescents behavioral therapy, play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, individual therapy, couple therapy, and family therapy.
Nastohia Jefferson, is the Billing Specialist for Perspective Counseling Services, PLLC in West Point and Starkville, MS. She has a total of five years of experience in the fields of healthcare and billing. Nastohia received an Associate in Applied Science degree in computer network technology from East Mississippi Community College, and two more Associate in Science degree in Medical Office Administration and insurance Billing and Coding Specialist from Herzing University.
Jessica Harris is a clinical mental health counselor who graduated from Grand Canyon University in May of 2023. She has strived to reach her clients through active listening skills via in-person sessions or through telehealth services. Ms. Harris is on a journey to achieve licensure through the local private practice, Perspective Counseling Services PLLC, under the supervision of Tyra Rowell, Ed.S., NCC, PLPC, BC-TMH. and Kenya Crawford-Walker, MS, NCC, LPC, BC-TMH.
As Ms. Harris continues her journey throughout this field, she plans to execute competency and provide each client with the utmost in care and treatment throughout each session. Her care includes the use of theories, research, and evidenced based interventions. Ms. Harris's integrative approach is tailored to the needs of her clients for the purpose of achieving optimal results. Taking into consideration the ethical and cultural guidelines, she believes that this will ensure that she remains in tune with the individual needs of her clients and their therapeutic processes.
The motivation behind her journey is her family. Ms. Harris's family and her personal experiences led her into to this field of study. Through her experiences, she learned the importance of self-care. Caretaking began with my grandmother and intensified as he cared for her own parents. This is how Ms. Harris learned to take care of others as well as herself. Although this journey is personal, it is very satisfying to her to witness a client reclaim self-worth and realize that they are important.
